Ayat us Salat

In this verse, the Muslims are commanded to send salutations (Salawat) on the Holy Prophet (S) and his progeny (A). Allah says:

Verily Allah and His angels bless the Prophet; O you who believe! Call for (divine) blessings on him and salute him with a proper salutation. (al Ahzab, 33:56)

When the Holy Prophet (S) was asked how to send a proper salutation he replied, say:

O Allah, send your blessings on Muhammad and his progeny.
